Please only clean up your own images — date stamps on your camera photos, "demo" overlays on your own exports, dust spots, a photobomber's elbow. This tool is not for stripping other photographers' or stock sites' copyright watermarks; that's their livelihood and often illegal.
Quality limits: inpainting works best on smooth, simple backgrounds (sky, walls, blurred areas). On busy textures — hair, intricate patterns, text over faces — expect some smudging. AI-powered automatic removers on servers can do better on hard cases; a manual brush in your browser covers the everyday ones, free and unlimited.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. The photo, your brush mask and the result never leave your browser.
Why does it work better on simple backgrounds?
Inpainting guesses missing pixels from the surrounding area. On a plain sky that's easy; on a complex pattern there's no clean pattern to copy, so it can smear. Paint tightly around the mark for the best result.
Can I remove a big logo covering half the photo?
Technically yes, but quality drops as the masked area grows — the algorithm has less surrounding context to work with. Small marks (date stamps, small logos) give the cleanest results.
What resolution is the download?
We cap the working image at 1600 px on the long edge so inpainting stays fast, even on phones. The download matches that resolution as a PNG.
Is removing watermarks legal?
Removing marks from your own photos is fine. Removing copyright watermarks from images you don't own — stock photos, other photographers' work — can violate copyright law. When in doubt, buy the license.
